Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Save the fellows of the right. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 'What thrusted you into Sakar?' 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
