The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
