And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said, 'And have you considered what you have been serving, 75 you and those ancient forebears of yours? 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He Who cures me; 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and place me among those who shall inherit the garden of bliss! 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Besides Allah? Can they help you or yet help themselves? 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 And they, while contending therein, shall say: 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 “So now we do not have any intercessors.” (The believers shall have intercessors, the disbelievers none). 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
