The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 all but an old woman, who was among those that stayed behind; 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
