The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He has created man: 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and grains with their husk and fragrant plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is Lord of the two easts and Lord of the two wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
