The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 will be easy, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
