Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
