Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he went to his home – so he brought a healthy calf. 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said: "Even so says your Lord. Verily, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knower." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they rebelled against the command of their Lord. So the thunderbolt overtook them while they looked on: 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
