The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the breath of morning 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
