The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
