The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, and the Lord of the Easts. 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 and have made them secure against every rebellious, satanic force, 7 So that they are not able to listen to the angels of higher (echelons), and are pelted from all sides 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, you (O Muhammad SAW) wondered (at their insolence) while they mock (at you and at the Quran). 12 They pay no attention when they are reminded 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 And say, "This is not but obvious magic. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 They will then say: “Woe for us. This is the Day of Judgement.” 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
