Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
