The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
There was certainly a time when there was no mention of the human being. 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 We surely showed him the way that he may either be grateful or deny. 3 We have prepared for unbelievers chains and collars and a blazing fire. 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 and who give food - however great be their own want of it - unto the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 "Verily, We fear from our Lord a Day, hard and distressful, that will make the faces look horrible (from extreme dislikeness to it)." 10 Wherefore Allah shall preserve them from the evil of that Day, and shall cause them to meet brightness and joy. 11 and recompensed them for their patience with a Garden, and silk; 12 There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold. 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And round about them shall go youths never altering in age; when you see them you will think them to be scattered pearls. 19 and when thou seest [anything that is] there thou wilt see [only] bliss and a realm transcendent 20 They will have fine green silk and brocade, and they will be decked with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will provide them with a drink of pure wine. 21 [And they will be told:] "Verily, all this is your reward since Your endeavour [in life] has met [God's] goodly acceptance!" 22
