The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? 4 on a Great Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Those who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 When Our revelations are conveyed to him, he says, "Fables of the ancients!" 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then they shall roast in Hell, 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A Register inscribed. 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 So, the believers will laugh at the infidels on that day, 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Surely the disbelievers are rewarded as they did. 36
