Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 Who accumulated wealth and hoarded it, counting. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Indeed it will be shut over them. 8 in towering columns. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
