(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And make my mission easy. 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 that they may understand my words. 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 So shall we glorify Thee, 33 and remember You much: 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on thee another time (before). 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 'Put the baby into a chest and then throw him in the river. The river will throw him up on the shore, and then an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his will take him.' And I spread My love over you in order that you might be reared in My sight. 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 And I formed thee for Myself. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 it has been revealed to us that punishment shall overtake him who rejects it and turns away!'" 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
