The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
