Alshu'araa' 10 of 11
The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 When Shuaib said to all of them, “Do you not fear?” 177 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 178 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you any reward for it, my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 180 ۞ Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss. 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 Answered [Shu'ayb]: "My Sustainer knows fully well what you are doing." 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
