Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ha Mim. 1 By the Book that makes things clear,- 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Then should We turn the message away, disregarding you, because you are a transgressing people? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 Yet thus it is [with most people]: if thou ask them, "Who is it that has created the heavens and the earth?" - they will surely answer, "The Almighty, the All-Knowing has created them." 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that when you are mounted upon them you may remember the bounty of your Lord, and say: “Glory be to Him Who has subjected this to Us whereas we did not have the strength to subdue it. 13 And surely to our Lord we must return. 14 Yet they have assigned to Him a part of His own servants! Man is dearly unthankful. 15
