Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 But We found in it only one household of those who had surrendered themselves, 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
