Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Lo! We have given thee (O Muhammad) a signal victory, 1 That God may save you from earlier and subsequent blames, and complete His favours on you, and guide you on the straight path, 2 And that Allah may help thee with strong help - 3 It is He Who instilled peace in the hearts of the believers, so that it may increase their strength of conviction; and to Allah only belong the armies of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is All Knowing, Wise. 4 [And] that He may admit the believing men and the believing women to gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein eternally and remove from them their misdeeds - and ever is that, in the sight of Allah, a great attainment - 5 (He also did this) to chastise the hypocrites, both men and women, and those who associate others in His Divinity, both men and women, and who harbour evil thoughts about Allah. They shall be afflicted with misfortune, Allah is wroth with them. He has laid His curse upon them and has prepared for them Hell. What an evil end! 6 Allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is ever Mighty, Wise. 7 VERILY, [O Muhammad,] We have sent thee as a witness [to the truth,] and as a herald of glad tidings and a warner 8 That ye may believe in Allah and His apostle, and may assist Him and honour Him, and may hallow Him at dawn and evening. 9 Those who swear allegiance to you swear allegiance to Allah. The Hand of Allah is above their hands. He who breaks his oath breaks it against his self, but for he that keeps his covenant made with Allah, Allah shall give him a mighty wage. 10
