▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
And for he who fears the standing (before) his Lord there are two Gardens. 46 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 47 These Gardens will abound in green, blooming branches. 48 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 49 In which, will be two fountains running. 50 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 51 In them will be Fruits of every kind, two and two. 52 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 53 Reclining upon couches lined with silk brocade, the fruit of both the gardens near to hand. 54 Which of your Lord's favours will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 55 Therein are those of modest gaze, whom neither man nor jinni will have touched before them. 56 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 57 [When you are promised splendours] as though [of] rubies and [of] pearls 58 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 59 Is the reward for good [anything] but good? 60 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 61 And beside them are two other gardens, 62 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - 63 The greenest of green pastures. 64 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 65 In these there will also be two springs gushing forth. 66 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 67 In both of them will be [all kinds of] fruit, and date-palms and pomegranates. 68 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 69 In the midst of these will be maidens, good and comely. 70 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 71 They are houris (maidens of Paradise), hidden from view, in pavilions. 72 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 73 Undeflowered by man or by jinn before them, -- 74 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 75 reclining upon green cushions and lovely druggets -- 76 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 77 Blessed be the name of your Lord, the Lord of Glory and Honor! 78
