The people of 'Ad, too, rejected the messengers. 123 when their brother Hood said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 I am a trustworthy messenger for you: 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 “Therefore fear Allah, and obey me.” 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 He has given you cattle, children, 133 "And gardens and springs. 134 indeed, I fear for you the torment of an awful day." 135 They said, "Whether you preach to us or not, 136 This [religion of ours] is none other than that to which our forebears clung, 137 And we are not to be punished." 138 So they rejected him, and We destroyed them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
