Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
