Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
