The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And [by] He who created the male and female, 3 your striving is indeed to different ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And affirms goodness, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 who spend for the cause of God and purify themselves. 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
