The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I swear by the early hours of the day, 1 and the brooding night! 2 (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased. 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 For your Lord will certainly give you, and you will be content. 5 Found He not thee an orphan, so He sheltered thee? 6 And found thee lost on thy way, and guided thee? 7 Did He not find you poor and enrich you? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 and as for the beggar, scold him not; 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
