It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 and thereby He brings forth for you crops, and olives, and palms, and vines, and all manner of fruit. Surely in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 And He hath subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Verily therein are signs for a people who understand. 12 And that which He has multiplied for you in the earth of diverse hues. Surely in that is a sign for a people who remember. 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And he has placed firm mountains on earth, lest it sway with you, and rivers and paths, so that you might find your way, 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 Is He then Who createth as him who createth not? Will ye not then remember? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 And Allah doth know what ye conceal, and what ye reveal. 19 Those whom they call upon beside Allah have created nothing; rather, they themselves were created; 20 They are dead, not living; and they do not know when they will be raised (to life). 21
