Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light. 61 it is He who has made night and day succeed each other, a sign for those who would take heed and would be grateful. 62 And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace, 63 And those who spend their nights bowed and standing before their Lord; 64 Who say: 'Our Lord, turn from us the punishment of Gehenna, for its punishment is the most terrible; 65 Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence." 66 Those who, when they spend, are not extravagant and not niggardly, but hold a just (balance) between those (extremes); 67 Who do not invoke any god apart from God, who do not take a life which God has forbidden except for a cause that is just, and do not fornicate -- and any one who does so will be punished for the crime, 68 The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace; 69 Except him who repents and believes and does a good deed; so these are they of whom Allah changes the evil deeds to good ones; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 70 and whosoever repents, and does righteousness, he truly turns to God in repentance. 71 And those who do not bear false witness, and when they pass by frivolity, they pass by with dignity; 72 who do not behave like the blind and the deaf, when the Revelations of their Lord are recited to them for admonition; 73 And those who say: "O Lord, give us comfort in our spouses and children, and make us paragons of those who follow the straight path." 74 Such are the people who will be rewarded with high palaces for their fortitude,, wherein they will be welcomed with due respect, honour and salutations 75 They shall abide in it forever; what an excellent abode and place of stay. 76 Say: 'My Lord esteems you not at all were it not for your prayer, for you have cried lies, and it shall surely be fastened.' 77
