Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Nor given leave to make excuses. 13 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 And We placed it in a firm lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 Then We facilitated your birth. How well do We calculate! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 The living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 And when the time comes for messengers -- 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on the day unto the beliers! 40
