The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
