The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly saw him on the clear horizon; 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye shall not will unless it be that Allah, the Lord of the worlds, willeth. 29
