Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven splits open. 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 Who created you proportionately and fashioned you 7 In whatever form He willed, He put you together. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Surely there are guardians over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 and from which they will find no escape. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
