The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 So We saved him and all his people, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
