It is Allah who made for you the grazing animals upon which you ride, and some of them you eat. 79 And there are advantages for you in them, and that you may attain thereon a want which is in your breasts, and upon them and upon the ships you are borne. 80 And He shows you His signs; then which of God's signs do you reject? 81 Have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who have gone before them? They were stronger than themselves in might and left firmer traces upon the earth; yet, whatsoever they earned did not help them. 82 When messengers came to them with clear signs, they revelled in whatever knowledge they had, and so they were engulfed by the very punishment they mocked: 83 And then, when they [clearly] beheld Our punishment, they said: "We have come to believe in the One God, and we have renounced all belief in that to which we were wont to ascribe a share in His divinity!" 84 But their belief profited them naught when they saw our prowess. This hath been Allah's dispensation that hath been in regard to His bondmen. And then there were lost the infidels. 85
