Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
