Al-Shams

The Sun (Al-Shams)

15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful

By the sun and its midmorning, 1 by the moon when it follows the sun, 2 and by the day as it displays the sun's glory, 3 By the Night as it conceals it; 4 and by the sky and by Him Who made it; 5 By the Earth and its (wide) expanse: 6 by the soul and how He formed it, 7 And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness, 8 Prosperous is he who purifies it, 9 and truly lost is he who buries it [in darkness]. 10 In their presumptuous insolence the Thamud called the Truth a lie 11 when their arch-criminal rose up in rage. 12 the Messenger of Allah said to them: '(This is) the shecamel of Allah, let her drink' 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 And He feared not the consequence thereof 15

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
