Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Tell them: “Wait; I too am waiting with you.” 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Let them produce a scripture like it, if what they say is true. 34 Or were they created of themselves? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
