The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
