The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The piercing star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 Issuing from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
