Thorns (Al-Masad)
5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
May the hands of Abu Lahab be ruined, and ruined is he. 1 His wealth avails him not, neither what he has earned; 2 He will [enter to] burn in a Fire of [blazing] flame 3 And his wife too, who carries wood (thorns of Sadan which she used to put on the way of the Prophet (Peace be upon him), or use to slander him). 4 Upon her neck a halter of strongly twisted rope. 5
True are the words of God the Almighty.
