We created mankind from clay, molded from mud, 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 And recall when your Lord said to the angels, “I will create man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud.” 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 (Iblis) said: "I am not one to prostrate myself to man, whom Thou didst create from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape." 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
