When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 We issued this command to him, for they were going to be destroyed in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 rushed towards the house of Lot. Lot said to them, "These are my guests. Do not disgrace me. 68 Fear God and do not shame me." 69 They replied, "Did we not forbid you to bring anyone to your house?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 So they were seized by the mighty blast at break of day; 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 There are certainly signs in that for those who can learn a lesson -- 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 Certainly the dwellers in the Thicket were evildoers, 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
