In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Ta' Ha' 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 a revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent Allah is firm in power. 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 And if you utter the saying aloud, then surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). 13 "Verily, I - I alone - am God; there is no deity save Me. Hence, worship Me alone, and be constant in prayer, so as to remember Me! 14 The Hour is coming; I would conceal it that every soul may be recompensed for its labours. 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 What is that, Moses, thou hast in thy right hand?' 17 He said: it is my staff; I lean there on; and therewith beat down fodder for my sheep; and for me therein are other purposes. 18 (Allah) said: "Cast it down, O Musa (Moses)!" 19 So he cast it down, and thereupon it turned into a sliding serpent. 20 Said He, 'Take it, and fear not; We will restore it to its first state. 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
