And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 “If you were to obey a human like yourselves, then surely you are losers!” 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is naught but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we shall not be raised (again). 37 He is naught but a man who has forged against God a lie, and we will not believe him.' 38 He said: 'Help me, Lord, they belie me' 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 So the shriek seized them in truth, and We made them as [plant] stubble. Then away with the wrongdoing people. 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 [for,] no community can ever forestall [the end of] its term - and neither can they delay [its coming]. 43 We sent Our messengers one after the other but whenever a Messenger would come to a nation, its people would call him a liar and We would destroy one nation after the other, thus, only their stories were left behind them. God keeps the unbelievers far away from His Mercy. 44 Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority, 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us? 47 So they cried them lies, and they were among the destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
