This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made the habit of denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, - 205 And then there came to them that which they were promised? 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, - 208 To remind, and We are never unjust. 209 And this Qur'an was not brought down by the devils. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And rely upon Allah the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I tell you on whom the Satans come down? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
