Hizb 46

And lo! Jonah verily was of those sent (to warn) 139 He abandoned his people 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have tarried in its belly till the day when they are raised; 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him (on a mission) to a hundred thousand (men) or more. 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not, then, bethink yourselves? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 "And we are truly those who stand in rows, 165 And we are most surely they who declare the glory (of Allah). 166 They say, 167 "If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples, 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 We decreed that Our Messenger servants 171 That verily they! they shall be made triumphant. 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 So turn thou from them for a while, 174 And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see. 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 Peace be upon the Messengers 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
