and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying, 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 The Day when no protector can avail his client in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
