The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 created man from a clot of congealed blood. 2 Recite thou: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught (to write) with the pen 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 because he thinks himself self-sufficient: 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A bondman when he offers the prayer? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We too shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
