Then, when the Messengers (the angels) came unto the family of Lout (Lot). 61 he said: "Surely you are an unknown folk." 62 They said: "Yea, we have come to thee to accomplish that of which they doubt. 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 So set forth, thou with thy family, in a watch of the night, and follow after the backs of them, and let not any one of you turn round; and depart unto the place you are commanded.' 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 but be conscious of God and disgrace me not!" 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 for, behold, those [towns] stood by a road that still exists. 76 Behold! in this is a sign for those who believed. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
